Ever Feel Like an Internet Marketing Castaway

No man is an island. Donne
So here is a timely idea to meditate about today. We are all interconnected in some way. People are not isolated from one another. In life, or business, some of us are starved for companionship. Especially in the internet marketing business world. No matter if you are just getting started or if you have been around the block a time or two, the power of the group helps to alleviate that pain.
So if you don't have those groupies to share your conversations with you are just talking to yourself. Well that kind of limits you…don't you think.
My last post regarding mastermind research has led me to believe the mastermind group is even more powerful than I originally thought. I have been talking with clients about their experience with one one one coaching and mastermind groups to gather more data this past week.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less…any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind…

So, what is the modern day internet marketer seeking and how does this relate to this Renaissance mans musings? They are concerned about, from an entrepreneurial aspect, getting ahead, moving forward, processing new information, ideas and strategies and leveraging their time. It is challenging to keep up with all of this, even living in an information age. The information is moving lightning fast and the quest is to separate the smoke and mirrors from the truth. Internet marketers are always testing. Testing strategies, theories, new tools and just about everything.

The power of the mastermind group allows marketers to interact and interchange what works and what's not working, at a higher rate of speed. It is a great way to turbo charge your business and your mindset.

I have found that masterminds, like one on one coaching, can be different things for different people. So it is important to start out with a clearly defined purpose that the group agrees on. The other aspect is a high level of commitment, involvement, and interchange of ideas from all of the participants.

I would love for you to post your comments about what makes a mastermind group great or not so great, so that I can continue my research to meet the needs of my clients. Also share with me, what makes a powerful mastermind facilitator?

I've found coaching and Mastermind Groups to be useful additions to my business life. The difference between them is that with coaching, being one-on-one, you really get the opportunity to say what you think and admit your insecurities. We all have them, and a business coach helps you get through and deal with tough times, in the privacy of your session. At other times your business coach can give you insight into ways to achieve business goals because they've the experience of either having achieved these things in their own businesses, or because they coach so many others, can use someone else's success to help you with yours. They often put you in touch with others needing your service too. The benefits are really endless.

Masterminds are energetic, idea sprouting goldmines and if you can achieve the right mix, you're missing out if you're not in one. But try to bring something to the table. People who don't actively participate (i.e just listen) aren't helping the others in the group.

One thing a Mastermind facilitator needs to do is to make sure that people are not being intimidated by the louder members.

I have had incredible break throughs from the master mind groups I'm involved in. The break thoughts are when you challenge the group to what would be the perfect outcome. So lets say I was selling a product. A perfect outcome for me would be to have a list of ever body who wanted my product.

Then challenge the group of ever wild and wonderful way to solve that problem. You will be amazed at how they just manage to do that. This exact problem was solved in my last mastermind with a very simple google query and returned 5500 potential clients.

Where a master mind does not add much value is where it gets into detail like how to do a 301 redirect. What a waist of a mastermind. Just google that. There are 100's of answers to that!
